Six Sayings, Another Version by Wendie Jamison

On December 13, 2015, I posted a card on my blog using the hostess-only stamp set, Six Sayings.  I offered it at all of my December, 2015 classes.

My sweet friend, Wendie Jamison, liked my card, though, she really needed a Holiday note card, and this is her beautifully designed masterpiece.  Just another example of what you can do with the same paper, ink, accessories, and choosing a different stamp. Thank you, Wendie.

Guest Designer, Gail Cobb, and Vintage Leaves

This beautiful, and incredibly easy card was designed by my friend, Gail Cobb, a fantastic and very talented Stampin' Up! demonstrator. I am excited to offer Gail's card in all my January 5, January 7, and January 9, 2016 classes.

  • Score a piece of  11 x 4 1/4 Thick Whisper White cardstock at 5 1/2.  Using the thicker cardstock for the base gives more stability to the card.
  • Cut a piece of SU Gold Foil to 5 1/4 x 4 and layer it on top of the folded Whisper White cardstock with snail adhesive.  Set aside.
  • Cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock to 5 x 3/4.  Ink a SU clear block D with Sahara Sand classic ink and stamp directly on the 5 x 3/4 piece of Whisper White cardstock.
  • Ink a leaf from Vintage Leaves with Early Espresso classic ink, and stamp over the Sahara Sand square.
  • Tie a piece of the gold metallic thread into a bow and adhere it with a glue dot to the base of the leaf.
  • Cut a piece of Gold Foil to 3/4 x 3, and a piece of Whisper White to 5/8 x 2 3/4.  Stamp a sentiment on the white piece with Early Espresso ink, and glue the white piece to the foil with snail.  The sentiment used here is SU's  Me=Grateful, (item #139319).  Use dimensionals on the back of the foil piece to pop up the sentiment piece.
  • Remember to stamp your envelope with a sentiment or leaf.  No naked envelopes, right?
If you have any questions, please let me know.

Six Sayings, a fantastic Hostess set

Six Sayings is a wonderful and fantastic, hostess-only set in the 2015 Holiday mini and is available until December 28, 2015.  It is just $11.00 for clear mount and $15.00 for wood mount.  If you would like to own this all occasion stamp set, let me know.  All you have to do is to host your own workshop, or place an order for a minimum of just $150.00.

To make my card:
-I scored a 11 x 4 1/4 piece of Night of Navy card stock at 5 1/2.
-Next, I embossed a 5 1/4 x 4 piece of Soft Sky with the Gently Falling embossing folder, and glue it to my scored Night of Navy.
-I glued my 3 x 4 piece of Season of Cheer DSP to a 3 1/4 x 4 1/4 piece of Real Red card stock, and glued this combination to the Soft Sky with Tombow liquid glue.
-I next used my Stamp-a-ma-jig and stamped my sentiment on a 2 1/4 x 3 1/4 piece of Shimmery White card stock with Night of Navy ink.
-I glued my sentiment piece to a 2 3/8 x 3 3/8 piece of Night of Navy card stock, and adhered this combination to my DSP with dimensionals.
-I used my Hexagon punch to cut "tails" to both ends of my 1/2 x 3 piece of Silver Glimmer paper, and attached it to my sentiment piece with snail.
-I used a glue dot to adhere my embellishment to the Glimmer paper.  I used the retired Frosted Finishes, however; the Winter Wonderland embellishments would look great.

If you have any questions, let me know.

All Ye Faithful

My card today uses the All Ye Faithful stamp set that is in the 2015 Holiday Mini.  It is not going to be carried over to the new 2016 Occasions mini, so I am thankful I have already purchased it.

I combined SU's gold foil sheets and their Fancy Gold Foil Vellum, and I like how they coordinate.  I stamped the Wisemen in Soft Suede ink, and embossed Mary and Joseph with gold embossing powder.  I am offering this card at my December 8, December 10, and my December 12, 2015 classes.

Wonderland and Organza Ribbon

I received this beautiful card when I attended Brian King's World Card Making Day event in October, 2015.  It was made by Colleen Dewey, a SU demonstrator in Newnan, Georgia. You can visit her Stampin' Up! website Here.  I have not CASEd her card yet, though, I did want to share her talents with you.

Colleen made her card like this:
-She stamped the trees with Soft Suede ink, leaving space to stamp again in Smoky Slate ink.  Make sure you clean your stamp before changing ink colors.
-Next, she stamped the trees in Versamark ink.
-Sprinkled the trees with Heat & Stick powder, and heated the powder using a heat gun.  Don't overheat, you want the image to still be tacky.
-Next, she sprinkled Dazzling Diamonds over the image, and heated until dry.  Don't overheat or your image will burn.
-Colleen died a piece of Whisper White Organza ribbon, by dabbing it in the Soft Suede ink.  Make sure you let it dry, maybe an hour or so.
-Corner round the edges, if you prefer.
-Stamp the words in Soft Suede ink, and you're done.

December 2015 Hostess Club Project-Wonderland Shaker Card

The card I posted yesterday was a spinning tree card.  Today's card shakes.  My hostess club members will be making this card at our meeting coming up this Thursday, December 3, 2015.  So you might say they will be shakin' and spinnin'.   Shaker cards are so easy, and fun to make, and if you want to see a "how to" video, just look for "Shaker cards" on YouTube.  There are many from which you can choose.

To make my card:
-I first embossed snowflakes with white embossing powder on a 5 1/4 x 4 piece of Night of Navy card-stock.
-I next glued a 5 1/4 x 4 piece of Vellum to the embossed Night of Navy piece by putting glue dots on the centers of my embossed snowflakes.
-Next I cut my circle using the 5th die from the largest of the Circle Framelits Dies.  The circle is actually 2 7/8".
-I used Tombow liquid glue to adhere the Silver Glimmer circle edge to my Vellum/Cardstock.  To get the Silver Glimmer thin circle, I nested the 4th and 5th (from the largest) Circle Framelits Dies together and cut using the Big Shot.
-I glued with Tombow liquid glue, a Stampin' Up! 3 1/2 square window sheet to the back of my embossed Night of Navy piece.
-I next glued foam adhesive (not dimensionals) to the back of the window sheet, following the circle opening.
-I next stamped the trees from Wonderland using Night of Navy ink onto a 3 1/2 x 4 piece of Whisper White cardstock.
-I then sprinkled chunky clear glitter (I had this left over from my To You & Yours Shaker Project Kit) on the stamped trees.  You can actually use SU's Silver Glass Glitter, or Dazzling Diamonds, they both would work just fine.
-Next, I removed the paper covering from the foam adhesive circle and placed the Night of Navy/Vellum piece over the stamped tree image.
-I put dimensionals on the back of my completed card front and adhered it to my 11 x 4 1/4 piece of Night of Navy, which I had scored at 5 1/2.
-I used a die from the Project Life Framelits collection for the words, which came from Versatile Christmas, and stamped them in Real Red ink.

I hold adult classes each month.  If you live near my home at 555 Williamsdale Road, Graham, NC 27253 and would like to attend any of my classes, please let me know.  For details, see my class schedule right here on my blog, or on my SU website found Here.

December, 2015, Hostess Club Project, Festival of Trees Spinner Card

Today's card spins.  Yes, that's right, a spinner card.  All of my hostess club members will be making this card at our meeting coming up this Thursday, December 3, 2015.   Spinner cards are so easy, and fun to make, and if you want to see a "how to" video, just look for "Spinner cards" on YouTube.  There are many from which you can choose.

My tree is connected to the card with clear stretch cord, or you can use beading elastic, which can be purchased from any craft store.  I cut my circle using the Circle Framelits, the 5th die from the largest.  Easier than you might think.

Here are the dimensions of the card stock for this card:
Mossy Meadow base is 8 1/2 x 5 1/2, folded at 4 1/4
Merry Moments DSP layer is 5 1/4 x 4
Real Red layer (base for words) is 3 3/4 x 1
Whisper White layer for words is 3 1/2 x 3/4

I hold adult classes each month.  If you live near my home at 555 Williamsdale Road, Graham, NC 27253 and would like to attend any of my classes, please let me know.  For details, see my class schedule right here on my blog, or on my SU website found Here.

Traveler, World Map and Cottage Greetings

I have the privilege to stamp and make cards with other SU demonstrator friends every other month, and Dorriea Murphy, part of my group, and one of my very talented downline, designed this card for our gathering.  I liked it so much, I have decided to offer it at all of my December 8, December 10, and December 12, 2015 classes.

Here are the dimensions of the card stock for this card:
Basic Black base is 8 1/2 x 5 1/2, folded at 4 1/4
Very Vanilla layer is 5 1/4 x 4
Tip Top Taupe layer 5 x 3 3/4
Basic Black layer for the World Map base is 3 1/4 x 3 1/4
Very Vanilla layer for the World Map stamp is 3 x 3
Very Vanilla piece for the greeting is 3 x 3/4

I used Tip Top Taupe to stamp the World Map on the 3" square of Very Vanilla, and I stamped the ship from Traveler in Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I stamped the words from Cottage Greetings in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and sponged the edges with Tip Top Taupe.  I used the Boho Chic embossing folder to give my card an extra layer look without actually adding an extra piece of card stock.  Clever, huh?  Thank you Dorriea for sharing.

I hold adult classes each month.  If you live near my home at 555 Williamsdale Road, Graham, NC 27253 and would like to attend any of my classes, please let me know.  For details, see my class schedule right here on my blog, or on my SU website found Here.

Sprinkles on Top Combination Card

I thought I would take a little break from my Christmas cards and showcase my combo card.  What is a combo card you ask?  Well, it's the Sprinkles on Top stamp set combined with SU's Cherry on Top dsp pack, and now I have an "on top" design.  Fun, huh?  I am offering this card at all of my December 8, December 10, and December 12, 2015 classes.

Here are the dimensions and a few details for this card:
  • Bermuda Bay base is 8 1/2 x 5 1/2, folded at 4 1/4.
  • Crushed Curry layer is 5 1/4 x 4.
  • Watermelon Wonder layer is 5 x 3 3/4.  I stamped the words on this layer with Memento Black ink, before I embossed it with the Large Polka Dot embossing folder.
  • Cherry on Top DSP is 5 x 1.
  • Bermuda Bay vertical layer is 1 1/2 x 3 3/4.
  • Whisper White vertical layer 1 3/8 x 3 1/2.
  • The base for the donuts is a 1 1/4" circle punch, and I used Cucumber Crush, Crushed Curry, and Tip Top Taupe card stock.
  • The donuts were stamped with Cucumber Crush, Crushed Curry, and Tip Top Taupe ink on Whisper White card stock and punched with a 1" circle punch.
  • I used Tip Top Taupe 1" Dotted Lace Trim behind the Bermuda Bay and Whisper White vertical layer.

Vintage Leaves and For All Things

Last week I offered this card to a wonderful group of ladies at Davis Street UMC, located in Burlington, NC.  I was there for a card ministry class.  All the ladies seemed to enjoy themselves, making their masterpieces, and when finished, returned their cards to Cynthia, who will send them to those who are not able to get out and be with their families at Thanksgiving.

Here are the dimensions of the card stock for this card:
Delightful Dijon base is 8 1/2 x 5 1/2, folded at 4 1/4
Cherry Cobbler layer is 5 1/4 x 4
Very Vanilla layer 5 x 3 3/4

Stampin' Up! is saying goodbye to retiring products from the holiday catalog; but before they do, they're giving everyone an opportunity to order their favorites. Retiring products will only be available until January 4, or while supplies last, so now's a great time to order them before they're gone!
Dates: November 16, 2015-January 4, 2016 (or while supplies last)
Holiday  Catalog  Retiring List
These lists are updated daily to show the availability of all retiring products. Download the PDF for a quick reference, or use the Excel file to sort the list. Check back regularly to make sure you have the most up-to-date information.
Things to Remember:
  • Retiring products are only available while supplies last. The lists of retiring products will be updated every business day.
  • Due to high demand for retiring stamps, Stampin' Up! will keep producing retiring stamps until December 28 (not accessories-accessories are only while supplies last).
