Detailed Floral Thinlits and One Big Meaning

The new Detailed Floral Thinlits are beautiful, and so unbelievably easy to use.  I used my Big Shot, the Magnetic Platform, and the Precision Base Plate to cut out this awesome pattern, and I used the Die Brush to separate the few little pieces that were left in the card stock.
The three pieces of DSP on the bottom of the card are from the Floral Boutique DSP, and I tied it all together with some ribbon.  I wanted to use the new Night of Navy Solid Baker's Twine, couldn't though, it's still on the big brown truck.
I like this easy-peasy card so much, I decided to offer it at all of my August 2016 classes.
Recipe:
  • The base is an 11 x 4 1/4 piece of Night of Navy scored at 5 1/2.
  • The next layer is a 5 1/4 x 4 piece of Whisper White.
  • I used a 3 x 4 piece of Night of Navy to cut out the Detailed Floral design with the Big Shot.
  • Two of the three pieces of DSP across the bottom are 1 x 4 and one piece is 7/8 x 4.
  • I stamped with words in Night of Navy ink.
  • The ribbon is some retired Night of Navy, and any ribbon of your choice will work just fine.
  • Remember to decorate your envelope, can't leave the house naked, right?
If you have any questions, let me know.

Come One, Come All, to my July 2016 Paper Purse and Cards Project Class

I thought I would change things up for all of my July 2016 classes, and offer a project.  I have designed purses and cards using two different Designer Series Papers (dsp), Timeless Elegance, and Floral Boutique.  The Timeless Elegance purse has black trim and the paper on the purse has roses all over. See my blog post of June 17, 2016.   The Floral Boutique purse is Navy Blue and White, and you will see my example on my blog, post of June 19, 2016.

When you sign up, please let me know which set you prefer, the Timeless Elegance or the Floral Boutique.  All the cards will be just as you see them, and you can add any sentiment you wish.  Each purse will be made from the dsp of your choice, though, the pattern of the paper may vary.
Details below:
What:  Class to make a purse with a rectangle bottom and an oval top, with two handles, and four coordinating cards with envelopes.  A sample can be seen on my blog at www.devotedstamper.com.
When:  TuesdayJuly 5, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. and again on
Thursday, July 7, at 6:30 p.m. and again on
            Saturday, July 9, at 9:30 a.m.
Where:  555 Williamsdale Road, Graham, NC 27253
Cost:  $15.00
What to bring: Yourself and get set to have fun.
Because of the preparation time needed, please RSVP no later than Monday, June 27, 2016.  If anything should come up after I have prepared your kit, and you will not be able to make it, no worries, I will make sure you get your kit and the purse instructions.

As I usually do, I will prepare a few extra kits, and should you want to attend, and you let me know after June 27, your kit will most likely be my choice☺.

Thank you for all your support, and have a beautiful day,

Bear Hugs Waterfall card for June 23, 2016 Hostess Club Project

The Bear Hugs stamp set is so cute, who would have thought it could do so much.
This waterfall-fun-fold card is a result of great minds thinking alike.  You see, my trusty assistant, Michelle "Chelle" Wallace and I designed it together, and I am tickled pink.  There is a fantastic Waterfall card tutorial on YouTube by Dawn Griffith, and you can see it Here.
This is one of the two projects I offered at my June 23, 2016 Hostess Club meeting.
  • Recipe:
    • The bases are a 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 piece of either Crumb Cake or Island Indigo.
    • The DSP is 5 1/4 x 4.
    • The pull tab for the card is 3 x 9 1/4, scored at 1 3/4, 2 1/2, 3 1/4, and 4.  I slid it under a 4 1/4 x 1 piece of card stock and anchored it with mini brads.
    • The Whisper White piece (on the bottom layer of the pull) is 2 3/4 x 3 3/4, and you will need one of these.
    • The base for the square pieces is 2 7/8, and the Whisper White (on which you stamp) is 2 3/4" square.  You will need three each of these.
    • The bears were stamped with Early Espresso ink on Crumb Cake card stock, and cut out using the Big Shot and the Bear Hugs Framelits Dies.
    • The words, flowers, and honey pot were stamped with Early Espresso ink and colored with markers.  The sun from Over the Rainbow was stamped with Crushed Curry ink.
    • The squares were adhered to the long pull tab with Tear & Tape adhesive.
    • Remember to decorate your envelope, can't leave the house naked, right?

June 23, 2016 Hostess Club Project-Step Panel Card

I used the Flower Patch Photopolymer stamp set, and the coordinating framelits, Flower Fair, to make this beautiful "Step Panel" card.  This card sits up so pretty all by itself, and folds flat for mailing.  Of course, it's even more stunning because of the bright colors, Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie card stock.
I saw this card on Dawn Griffiths video blog, and you can see it Here

July 2016 Purse and Card Class Sample from the Floral Boutique DSP

This post is "showing-off" my Purse and Card set that I made using the Floral Boutique DSP from S.U.  Another option from which to choose for my July 5, July 7, and July 9, 2016 classes.
If you cannot come to my class, and you want to make this purse and cards, just go to YouTube, and search, Stampin' Up! Adorable Paper Purse.  Or visit the site: Here.  The only thing I did different, I added a bottom to the outside, just like the one on the inside.  Also, there are many other videos you might want to watch, because there are plenty on YouTube.

All the information about this class can be found on my class schedule, Here.

July 2016 Purse and Card Class Sample

Today I am "showing-off" the Purse and Card set I am offering for July 5, July 7, and July 9, 2016 classes.
This set uses the newly retired, Timeless Elegance designer series paper.  I think this paper is so beautiful, especially for this project, that I just couldn't help myself, I had to use it.  In a few days, I will post the set I am offering using SU's new, Floral Boutique dsp.  All the information about this class can be found on my class schedule, Here.

Confetti Celebration and Partial Die-Cutting

Confetti Celebration is a stamp set that is new to the 2016-17 Stampin' Up! catalog, and it is a fantastic set to have.  It is mostly for birthdays, however, I see myself using it for congratulations cards, and other happy kind-of-cards.  Hope you like my card as much as I do.
  • Recipe:
    • The base is an 11 x 4 1/4 piece of Flirty Flamingo scored at  5 1/2.
    • The next layer is a 5 1/4 x 4 piece of Emerald Envy, dry embossed with the Lucky Stars Embossing Folder.
    • Next is a 5 x 3 3/4 piece of Very Vanilla.  The circle is a technique called partial die-cutting.  I saw Kelly Acheson demonstrate this technique on Youtube, and you can see her video Here, post of June 5, 2016.
    • I punched two 2 1/2 circles, one from Emerald Envy and one from Flirty Flamingo, and pieced them behind my cut out.
    • I punched stars using the Confetti Hearts Border punch and Emerald Envy card stock and glued them on my card with my Fine-tip glue pen.
    • Colored the Happy Birthday with my 2016-18 In-color markers.
    • I glued the top layer to the Emerald Envy layer, wrapped my ribbon around these two layers then glued this combination to the Flirty Flamingo base.
    • Remember to decorate your envelope, can't leave the house naked, right?
If you have any questions, let me know.

Guy Greetings

Guy Greetings is a wonderful set of 22 stamps, and it is available in wood, clear mount, and photopolymer.  It is a perfect masculine set, and fits many occasions.  I used a combination of greens and blues for this card, and I am excited to offer it at all of my June 7, June 9, and June 11, 2016 classes.
  • Recipe:
    • The base is an 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 piece of Island Indigo scored at  4 1/4.
    • The next layer is a 5 1/4 x 4 piece of Basic Black.
    • The next layer is a 5 x 3 3/4 piece of Smokey Slate.
    • I stamped the Smokey Slate cs with Smokey Slate ink to make my own background paper.
    • I glued the Smokey Slate piece to the Basic Black, and wrapped Basic Gray bakers twine (retired), around both pieces three times.
    • I used a 3 3/4 x 3 1/2 piece of Garden Green for the image base.
    • Next is a 3 5/8 x 3 3 1/4 piece is Island Indigo.
    • I stamped my image with Black Archival ink on a piece of 3 1/2 x 2 3/4 piece of Whisper White.  Then hand tore all the layers.
    • After I glued these three pieces together, I popped up the combination with dimensionals.
    • I stamped the World's Greatest with Archival Black ink on Pool Party cardstock, and cut it out with my paper snips. Mounted it on my Whisper White with dimensionals.
    • I colored the body builder's pants with Island Indigo ink and an Aqua Painter.
