Napkin Art

I will never look at napkins the same way again, no sirree.  Napkins are not just for parties, or to dab stray crumbs from your mouth, they are works of art for beautiful cards.   You can make a napkin card in just a few minutes with very little supplies.  Basically you glue the napkin to a piece of neutral card stock, trim, and glue to your base, it's that easy. To see how-to, informative videos, visit YouTube and search Napkin Technique.

I bought a couple of packages of napkins from The Dollar Tree and I must say, I certainly got my monies worth.  I made these two cards with a little cardstock, a few punches, and a couple of word stamps.  Fun, fun, fun.

My wonderful club members are going to make these cards at our meeting on May 22nd, and I'm excited to show them how easy this technique is.  If you are not a member of my Hostess club and would like to attend our meeting and make these cards for free, please let me know.  I welcome "drop-in's", and your only requirement is to place a personal order of at least $25.00 (before shipping).  Also, you would have the opportunity to experience Hostess club, see how much fun we have, and maybe you would like to join us as a member.

Happy Watercolor and Watercolor Wonder DSP

I had the honor of attending SU's Red Carpet Premier in Raleigh, NC and I am now the proud owner of SU's 2014-15 catalog.  Just wait until you see their new In-Colors, papers and stamp sets.   Everything is gorgeous, and when you see the catalog, I know you'll say the same.

Two of my favorites from the Spring Mini catalog is the Happy Watercolor stamp set and the Watercolor Wonder dsp.  I am going to be sad to see them go on June 1, 2014. Though I used this very versatile set and paper for my April classes, I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to use them again for my May 2014 classes.

Hexagon Hive Thinlit and Sponged Background

I wanted to use the Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper (DSP) from Stampin' Up! with the Hexagon Hive Thinlit to make this card, because, I have become a DSP addict.  Well, I have four packs of this beautiful paper, and even so, could not decide which design to use, so I decided to make my own background.  Yep, made my own background using Daffodil Delight, Crushed Curry and Tangerine Tango classic ink pads, sponges and sponge daubers.  So easy, just start with your lightest color ink and sponge the color in circular motions until you have the effect you want.  I can't wait to share this design with my ladies who are attending my May 3rd, 6th, 8th and 14th classes.

The two cards are the same, except for the placement of the Floral Fusion flowers.  By-the-way, the Floral Fusion and Little Leaves Sizzlits are a bargain at just $5.50 each.  Both of these sizzlits are retiring, and you can get them with FREE shipping from April 21-25, 2014, by visiting my SU store Here, and search Floral Fusion Sizzlit or Little Leaves Sizzlit.

Recipe:  Stamps:  Express Yourself, Teeny Tiny Wishes;  Paper: Whisper White, Gumball Green, Tangerine Tango card stock;  Ink: Daffodil Delight, Crushed Curry and Tangerine Tango classic;  Accessories: Big Shot, Hexagon Hive Thinlit, Floral Fusion Sizzlit, Little Leaves Sizzlit, Basic Pearls, Dimensionals
