Barb and Dorriea

Tracy and Michelle

We had such a fun time last week at our quarterly Shoe Box Swap event, and that is not surprising, because we always enjoy ourselves.  Fun, friends, good eats, and card making, what could be better!!!
(I realized when I was posting these pictures, I did not remember to ask someone to take a picture of me, however, I was there, honest).

Want to know what a Shoe Box Swap is?  Each person attending designs a card using all Stampin' Up! products, makes a sample, and enough kits for each attendee.  Everything one needs to make the card is put in a shoe box, or something similar, and we come home with everyone else's designs, all for free.  Free is good, right!!!

Should you want information and would like to attend our next SBS, please let me know and I will put you in touch with Michelle who coordinates our SBS's.

Also, I hold monthly adult card-making classes in my home at 555 Williamsdale Road, Graham, NC 27253. The registration date for my June 2023 classes has closed, and if you would like to attend my July 11 or 15, 2023 classes please see my class schedule and the deadline to register right here on my blog or on my Stampin' Up! website, found Here.
Thank you for stopping by and have a great day.~

 Regal Reindeer &
Brightest Glow

I offered a card for my May, 2023 classes using this same sketch.  After class, I had one kit left, and I decided to change into a Christmas card.  You can see my class card Here, post of April 25, 2023.

Recipe:

  • The base is an 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 piece of Poppy Parade, scored at 4 1/4.
  • The Gold Foil layer is 5 3/8 x 4 1/8.
  • The Shaded Spruce layer is 5 1/4 x 4.
  • The Basic White layer is 5 x 3 3/4 and embossed with the Fern 3d folder.
  • Three 3/8" wide, and one 1/2" wide Poppy Parade strips are added to the card front.  The words are added to the 1/2" wide strip with black ink.
  • The 2 7/8 x 2 Shaded Spruce rectangle is the base for the 2 3/4 x 1 7/8 Basic White.
  • I used the Very Best Trio Punch to "beautify" this Basic White piece.
  • I stamped the words with Tuxedo Memento Black ink and added Balmy Blue snowflakes. I adhered this to the Shaded Spruce rectangle with liquid glue.  I punched two Garden Green leaves and one Shaded Spruce leaf using the Bough Punch. I glued these behind Shaded Spruce rectangle, then added all to the card front with dimensionals.

Regal Reindeer for my June, 2023 Creative Therapy Classes

I offer a Christmas card at each of my Creative Therapy classes beginning in March.  This month I am using the Regal Reindeer Bundle.  So much fun, so little time.  Terri Allen has a similar card on Pinterest, and you can see her card Here.
Please see below for details on how to register for my classes.

Recipe:

  • The base is an 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 piece of Poppy Parade, scored at 4 1/4.
  • The Mint Macaron layer is 5 1/4 x 4.
  • I cut a 2 1/2" circle from the 5 x 3 3/4 Evening Evergreen with a Stylish Shapes Die. The basic white layer behind this piece is 3 1/2 x 3 1/4, and I used this piece on which to stamp my trees, then adhered it behind the Evening Evergreen with liquid glue and added this combination to the Mint Macaron, then all to the Poppy Parade.
  • I heat embossed the words on a 3 3/4 x 1 piece of Evening Evergreen with white embossing powder and added this to card front with liquid glue.
  • I used my Paper Snips to trim a 3 3/4 x 1 piece of Basic White to make it look like snow.  I adhered this to the top edge of the 3 3/4 x 1 Evening Evergreen word piece.
  • The reindeer and bunny are stamped with Tuxedo Memento Black ink on Basic White, and colored with Stampin' Blends, and cut out with Reindeer Dies.  I popped these up with dimensionals
  • All done and remember to decorate your envelope.

  Pansy Patch &
Fresh as a Daisy DSP

I combined some Fresh as a Daisy DSP with the Deckled Rectangles Dies and found this card to be very easy to put together.  I hope you enjoy it.

Recipe:

  • The base is an 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 piece of Early Espresso, scored at 4 1/4.
  • The Crushed Curry layer is 5 1/4 x 4.  I used a 4 x 2 5/8 Deckled Rectangles Die to cut out the middle of this layer.  (a cardstock saving's tip).  After cutting a "hole" out of the center of the Crushed Curry, I adhered the larger piece to the Early Espresso.
  • The Fresh as a Daisy DSP is 5 x 3 3/4.  I used a 3 3/4 x 2 1/4 Deckled Rectangles Die to cut out the middle of the DSP.  I then adhered the larger piece to the Crushed Curry layer.
  • I adhered the Deckled cutout pieces together and added them to the card front.
  • I stamped the words from Pansy Patch with Early Espresso ink on Basic White and cut this out with a 2 1/4" Stylish Shapes Die.
  • I used Early Espresso card stock and a 2 3/8 Circle Punch to add a base for my Stylish Shapes Die.  Add these pieces together with Multipurpose Liquid Glue, or your favorite glue then add this combination to the card front with dimensionals.
  • All done and remember to decorate your envelope.
