Flourishing Phrases and Comfort & Healing

I used the stamp set, Flourishing Phrases, and coordinating dies, Flourish Thinlits, to make this card.  I also combined Dapper Denim with Pool Party for, what I think, is a "I can be anything you want me to be" card.
This is one of the cards I am offering in all of my September 6, September 8, and September 10, 2016 classes.
Recipe:
  • The base is an 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 piece of Dapper Denim scored at 4 1/4.
  • The next layer is a 5 1/4 x 4 piece of Basic Black.
  • Next is a 5 x 3 3/4 piece of Pool Party.
  • The Basic Black piece under the layer with the words is 3 3/4 x 1 3/4.  The Pool Party layer (with the words) is 3 3/4 x 1 5/8.
  • I cut out the flowers with the Flourish Thinlits Dies and Basic Black cardstock, and glued them to my card with a Fine Tip Glue Pen.
  • The words were stamped with Archival Black Ink.
  • Remember to decorate your envelope, can't leave the house naked, right?
If you have any questions, let me know.

Spooky Fun, Halloween Scares, and Halloween Scenes Edgelits Dies

I offered this "scary" Halloween card in all of my August 2016 card classes, and it was a big hit, and quite popular.
The Halloween sets in SU's 2016-17 Holiday Mini are so darn cute, and my demonstrator pre-order included everything "Halloweeny".
This Holiday catalog, to me, is the best Stampin' Up! has had in a long time.  If you do not have a SU demonstrator, and would like a copy of the new Holiday Mini, please let me know.  I'd be more than happy to send one to you.
Recipe:
  • The base is an 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 piece of Basic Black scored at 4 1/4.
  • The next layer is a 5 1/4 x 4 piece of Pumpkin Pie, embossed with the Woodland embossing folder.
  • Next is a 1 7/8 x 3 3/4 piece of Halloween Night DSP, with a 2 x 3 7/8 piece of Basic Gray base.
  • The Smokey Slate circle is cut from the Circle Framelits. (the retired ones).
  • I stamped the house from Halloween Scares (before embossing the Pumpkin Pie piece), and the witch and words from Spooky Fun with Archival Black ink.
  • The fence, tree and bats were cut out with the Big Shot and the Halloween Scenes Edgelits Dies using Black Glimmer paper.
  • I colored the windows of the house with a Crushed Curry marker, (part of the Regals Collection).
  • Remember to decorate your envelope, can't leave the house naked, right?
If you have any questions, let me know.

August 2016 Hostess Club Project-Pillow Top Technique with Thoughts & Prayers and Rose Wonder

Each month when my Hostess Club meets, and I like to offer fun and unique projects or techniques.  This is one of the two cards we made at my August 25, 2016 meeting.  To get the pillow-top look, sponge on the edge of a window sheet, or a piece of acetate, to get the look of a, you guessed it, a mattress pillow-top.  If you would see a fantastic video to make a card like this one, visit Gina K Designs and see her video Here.
Recipe:
  • The base is an 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 piece of Tip Top Taupe scored at 4 1/4.
  • The next layer is a 5 1/4 x 4 piece of Rose Red.
  • Next is a 5 x 3 3/4 piece of Whisper White.
  • The oval base is Tip Top Taupe, and the words are stamped on Whisper White with Early Espresso ink.
  • The leaves from Thoughts & Prayers are stamped with Tip Top Taupe ink.
  • The baby butterflies are punched from a non-SU punch (say it isn't so, right?), with Rose Red.
  • Remember to decorate your envelope, can't leave the house naked, right?
If you have any questions, let me know.

Cookie Cutter Christmas Shutter-Card, for my August, 2016 Hostess Club

Each month when my Hostess Club meets, I like to offer two fun projects and/or a technique.  This cute interactive Christmas Shutter Card is one everyone will make at my August 25, 2016 meeting.
The stamp sets and DSP I used are from the Stampin' Up! 2016-17 Holiday Mini. If you do not have a demonstrator, and would like a complimentary catalog, please let me know.  I will be more than happy to mail one to you.
You can find lots of Shutter Card instruction videos on YouTube, and my favorite was from Christi Beck at StampinTx, and you can see Christi's video Here.

Recipe:
  • The base is an 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 piece of Real Red scored at 2 1/8 and 6 3/8.
  • I covered the front two flaps with two pieces of 2 x 5 3/8 of Whisper White.  On top of the White, I glued two pieces of 1 7/8 x 5 1/8 of Candy Cane Lane DSP (page 5, item #141981).  I also added two 2 x 5 3/8 pieces of Whisper White to the inside flaps.  I felt there needed to be somewhere to write something, like Hi, Hello, or maybe Merry Christmas.
  • The Gingerbread man is from Cookie Cutter Christmas, page 6, item #142043.
  • The little candy cane and star on the inside is from Candy Cane Christmas, page 5, item #142040
  • The words on the belly band is from Christmas Magic, page 22, item #142119.
  • I used all the measurements for the rest of card, just as Christi did, and she is so easy to follow.
  • Remember to decorate your envelope, can't leave the house naked, right?
If you have any questions, let me know.

  • I stamped the leaves from the In the Meadow trees and grass on a 1 3/4 x 4 1/2 piece of Whisper White and backed it with a 1 7/8 x 4 5/8 piece of Old Olive.
  • The swing was stamped in Soft Suede on a piece of 3 x 2 7/8 piece of Whisper White, and backed with a 3 1/8 x 3 piece of Old Olive.  I colored the swing slats with a Soft Suede marker.  The words were stamped with Cherry Cobbler ink.

Endless Birthday Wishes

I used Endless Birthday Wishes to make this fun birthday card.  I saw it on Ann Clemmer's Blog, Stamper Dog, and you can see her card Here.
Recipe:
  • The base is an 11 x 4 1/4 piece of Melon Mambo, scored at 5 1/2.
  • The next layer is a 5 x 3 1/2 piece of Basic Black.
  • Next is a 4 3/4 x 3 1/4 piece of Whisper White.

  • The cake was stamped with Tuxedo Memento black ink, and colored with Melon Mambo and Crushed Curry markers.
  • The words were stamped with Melon Mambo, and Tuxedo Memento black ink, and the dots were stamped with Crushed Curry ink.
  • The ribbon is some SU Melon Mambo that is retired, and since I still have tons of it, I couldn't help myself.
  • Remember to decorate your envelope, can't leave the house naked, right?

Guest Designer, Patty Safrit, and Gift from the Garden

Patty Safrit

I received this beautiful card from Patty Safrit for my birthday, and I can't help but share it.  Patty spent lots of time cutting out each glove, boot, trowel, and almost 50 little leaves.  A labor of love, for sure.
I didn't have this set when I received Patty's card, but I will by the end of this week when my cute UPS man in the Big Brown Truck pulls up in my driveway.
There are so many things you can do with this set, and it's not just for gardeners, and I know that because I do not have a green thumb and I bought it anyway.
Recipe:
  • The base is an 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 piece of Dapper Demin scored at 4 1/4.
  • The next set of Whisper White layers are:
    • The piece for the boots is 1 5/8 x 2 5/8.  The boots were stamped with Cherry Cobbler ink and cut out with paper snips.
    • The piece for the flower pot and flowers is 1 5/8 x 1 3/4.  The pot was stamped with Cajun Craze, and the leaves were hand-cut with Pear Pizzazz and Old Olive card stock.
    • The piece with the gloves is 1 5/8 x 2.  The gloves were stamped with Flirty Flamingo ink, and cut out with paper snips.
    • The piece with the trowel is 1 x 2.  The trowel was colored with Smoky Slate and Dapper Denim markers.
    • The Watering Can piece is 1 1/2 x 2 1/2.  It was stamped on Whisper White with Mint Macaron ink and cut out with paper snips.
    • The piece with the words is 1 1/2 x 2 7/8, and the words were stamped with Archival Black ink.
  • All the pieces are adhered with snail, except for the piece with the words, and it was adhered with Dimensionals.
  • Each piece was sponged with Dapper Denim Classic Ink.
  • Remember to decorate your envelope, can't leave the house naked, right?
