Aluminum Foil Technique with Gifts of Kindness

Who would have thought one could make a greeting card using aluminum foil.  Not me, that's for sure.  Not only that, have you ever seen a store-bought card made with foil?  I sure had fun making this one-of-a-kind beauty.

For this technique, I used a glue stick, yes, just a regular glue stick, and glued a piece of foil to a piece of 5 1/2 x 4 1/4" piece of basic black card stock.  I then trimmed the combo piece to 5 1/8 x 3 7/8.  I put the trimmed piece in the embossing folder, making sure the foil side and the SU logo were facing me.  Crank it thru my Big Shot, or Cuttle Bug machine, and viola, you have a beautiful embossed foil image. If you look for Tin Foil Technique, there are videos all over YouTube.  This is another technique I offered to my wonderful and fantastic hostess club members at our May 2015 meeting.

Dimensions of the card stock in the middle of the card:
Black: 2 7/8 x 2 5/8
White: 2 3/4 x 2 1/2
Burgundy: 2 5/8 x 2 3/8

Recipe:  Stamp Sets: *Gifts of Kindness, *Too Kind;  Paper:  Whisper white, Bravo Burgundy, an oldie, but a goody), Basic Black card stock; Ink: Memento Black; Accessories:  Big Shot, Lovely Lace embossing folder, *Modern Label Punch, Word Window, Petite Petals Punch, Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack (retired), Black 1/4" grosgrain ribbon (retired), Brights Candy Dots, Dimensionals.
*Retires 6/2/2015

Aqua Painter Resist with Stippled Blossoms

I saw a technique on Lisa Brown's Blog, which she has titled Aqua Painter Resist, and I just had to give it a try.  If you would like to subscribe to Lisa's blog, click Here, so you, too, can have access to her Aqua Painter Resist video.

For the technique, heat emboss an image on watercolor paper with white embossing powder.  Use an aqua painter and classic inks to "wash" the image.  B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L.  I decided to offer this technique to my wonderful and fantastic hostess club members when we meet on May 28, 2015, and I'm looking forward to seeing their reaction.

Birthday Bash Shaker Card

Would you like to make a 3-D shaker card like this one?  Carolyn Bennie has a fantastic video on her blog, found Here.  See her post of October 25, 2014, listed under Coffee Bean Shaker Card Video tutorial.
I am offering this card or the Coffee Bean Shaker Card (see my post of May 18, 2015) as part of my Hostess Club Projects.  I used the Create a Cupcake stamp set, and it is retired.  I have fantastic news, though. The Create a Cupcake stamp set was replaced by the Cupcake Party stamp set and is available in the current catalog, and the new 2015-16 Catalog. Both sets coordinate with the Cupcake Builder Punch.  Who would have thought, huh?

Recipe:  Stamp Sets: Create a Cupcake (retired), Be the Star; Paper:  Whisper white, Bermuda Bay, Tangelo Twist card stock and *Birthday Bash DSP;  Ink: Tangelo Twist, Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry, Real Red, *Metallic Gold Encore; Accessories: Big Shot, Circle Framelits, Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack (for large star), Confetti Stars border Punch, Cupcake Builder Punch, Window Sheets, Brights Candy Dots.

Painted Petals Basket and Notecards

The Berry Basket die, from Stampin' Up!, makes cute, beautiful, plus useful gifts and projects.  Look what my friend, Kitty Collier, did with her die.  She used the Something Borrowed dsp to line the inside of her basket, and the use of the Tea Lace Doily is a wonderful idea.  Kitty made a stack of four 3 x 3 notecards using the *Painted Petals stamp set, and there you have it-a fantastic gift.  The *Painted Petals stamp set is so versatile, I am so sorry SU is not carrying it over to the new 2015-16 catty.  The set is available until 5/31/2015, and if you like to order it, please let me know or click on the link below.  Thank you, Kitty, for sharing with me.

Recipe:  Stamp Sets: *Painted Petals; Paper:  Whisper white, Pink Pirouette, Sahara Sand card stock and *Something Borrowed DSP;  Ink: Pink Pirouette, Sahara Sand, Early Espresso; Accessories: Big Shot, Berry Basket Die, *Flower Frenzy Bigz Die, on sale for $18.98Tea Lace Doily, Dimensionals.

Six Sided Sampler for my June 2015 Paper Therapy Classes

I had planned to offer this card for my May 2015 classes, changed my mind (women get to do that, you know), and decided to put this fantastic card in the line-up for my June 2015 classes, so a few of the colors I used will be retired by class time.  However, just change out the card stock, and you can make your own, beautiful, Z-fold card.  I am offering this card from my June 2015 classes, and if you have the opportunity to attend, I'm sure you will like the design of my Z-fold card as much as I do.

Recipe:  Stamp Sets: Six Sided Sampler;  Paper:  Whisper White, *Coastal Cabana, *Baked Brown Sugar, *Strawberry Slush card stock;  Ink:   Whisper White, *Coastal Cabana, *Baked Brown Sugar, *Strawberry Slush Classic; Accessories:  Big Shot, Honeycomb Embossing Folder, Hexagon, 7/8" Scallop Circle, and *Scalloped Edge Punches, Dimensionals,

I just had to show off Sande Parcell's latest CASE, two of the gazillion cards she has been making.  Sande is so talented, and would make a fantastic demonstrator.   Maybe one of these days.

I like how she used Perfect Blend to make a 3-D card, and it is so unique, it will be one of the cards we will be making at our May 28th Hostess club meeting.  Perfect Blend is retiring on 5/31/2015, and if you don't have the set yet, there is still time.  Thank you, again, Sande, for sharing with me.
