   Layering Leaves Thank You

Layering Leaves Stamps, Coastal Cabana, Pretty Peacock,

Tailor Made Tags Dies, Tinsel Gems Four Pack, Pool Party Ribbon

Layering Leaves Stamps, Real Red, Balmy Blue,
Basic White, Silver Foil, Beary Christmas DSP,
Deckled Rectangle Dies, Holiday Rhinestones
I like to have special Christmas thank you notes on hand to send to my friends and family for their gracious gifts.
I made these cards in less time than it would take to drive to the store and buy cards, that's for sure.
The Beary Christmas and A Walk in the Forest DSP is retiring and the last day to purchase these papers is January 3, 2024.  See below to purchase any of the supplies I used to make these cards.

Recipe:

  • The bases of Coastal Cabana or Real Red are 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored at 4 1/4.
  • The second layers of Silver Foil (from my local craft store) or Pretty Peacock are 5 1/4 x 4.
  • The A Walk in the Park and Beary Christmas DSP layers are 5 x 3 3/4.
  • Top Card:
    • I stamped the words with Shaded Spruce ink on Basic White and cut this out with the smallest of the Tailor Made Tags dies.
    • I cut another tag with Pretty Peacock and the second from the smallest of the Tailor Made Tags. I adhered both tags together with liquid glue.
    • I threaded some Pool Party 3/8" ribbon thru the hole in the tags and made a bow.
    • The completed tag is added with dimensionals.
    • Three gems from Tinsel Gems Four Pack   are added.
  • Bottom Card:
    • I stamped the words with Shaded Spruce ink on Basic White and cut this out with the smallest of the Deckled Rectangles Dies.

    • I added both to the card front with dimensionals.
  • All done and remember to decorate your envelope.

Christmas Classics Stamp set for an easy Christmas Card

I used the 2nd and 3rd from the smallest dies (not counting the little label die)
to cut the border from the piece of gold foil that I used as my second layer.
Great way to save cardstock, especially foils.

I wanted to create a quick Christmas card and try to use as little supplies as possible, hence, not such a messy craft room.  I accomplished the quick and easy card, and my room ended up messy anyway, oh well!!!
If you notice in the first picture, there is a "R" on the case of the stamp set.  That is because Christmas Classics is retiring on January 3, 2024.

Recipe:

  • The Cherry Cobbler base is 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored at 4 1/4.
  • The Gold Foil layer is 5 1/4 x 4.  I cut my out frame with this piece. (see picture)
  • I cut the opening of the A Walk in the Forest DSP with the 2nd from the smallest of the Countryside Corners Dies. (not counting the little label die)
  • I lined up a 3 1/2 x 4 3/4 piece of Basic White under the DSP and stamped my words from Christmas Classics with Cherry Cobbler ink and the little dotted triangles with Shaded Spruce ink.  I adhered this combination to the Gold Foil and added all to the Cherry Cobbler base.
  • I added the gold frame with Multipurpose liquid glue.
  • All done and remember to decorate your envelope.

Highland Heather, Basic Black, Basic White cardstock,
and Flirty Flamingo, Highland Heather, and Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Blends
I watched a video by Kathi Ondus of Simply Kards by Kathi and thought the technique she used to make vellum flowers with the Translucent Florals Dies was something I had to try.   She has an easy-to-follow video, and you can see it Here, post of 9/22/23.

Recipe:

  • The bases are 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored at 4 1/4.
  • The Basic Black layers are 5 1/4 x 4.
  • The 5 x 3 3/4 Basic White layers are embossed with the Quatrefoil folder.
  • The vellum is colored with Stampin' Blends and cut out with the Translucent Floral Dies.  The leaves are from the Delightful Floral DSP.  The flower centers are cut with Basic Black cardstock.
  • I added Adhesive-Backed Sparkle Gems to the center of each flower.
  • The 2 1/2 x 1 Basic Black pieces are the bases for the words that are stamped with Tuxedo Memento Black ink on Basic White and cut out with a Timeless Arrangement die.
  • I added three Classic Matte Dots to each card.
  • All done and remember to decorate your envelope.

Little Monkey for my November 2023 Creative Therapy Classes

I offer five cards at each of my monthly Creative Therapy Classes, and one is a fun card, and this little monkey definitely is a happy card, right!!  I saw a similar card on Pinterest by Bonnie Mountford.  I added an extra layer, changed the colors, and added a die cutout to display the words, and all the dimensions and instructions are listed below.
I am excited to share this cute card with all my November 2023 class attendees.  So much fun, so little time!!!

Recipe:

  • The Daffodil Delight base is 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored at 4 1/4.
  • The Pacific Point layer is 5 1/4 x 4.  I know this color is retired; however, Azure Afternoon would work just fine as well.
  • The Granny Apple Green layer is 5 x 3 3/4 and is embossed with a retired Stitched Greenery Die.
  • The 5 x 1 1/2 piece of Fresh as a Daisy DSP is the base for the three 1 3/8" square Basic White pieces, on which the little monkeys are stamped with Tuxedo Memento Black ink.
  • The monkeys are colored with Pecan Pie blends.  I stamped a second set of little monkeys on Basic White, colored their faces, and performed surgery by cutting off their bodies, and popping up their heads over their stamped images.
  • I stamped the words with black ink on Basic White and cut this out with a Nested Essential Die, and also popped it up with dimensionals.
  • I stamped, colored and cut out a banana and added it to the die piece with snail.
  • All done and remember to decorate your envelope.

Layering Leaves & Abundant Beauty Decorative Masks for my November 2023 Classes

The Abundant Beauty Decorative Masks are so easy to use and can create many beautiful cards.  The masks are only $10.50 and when you add cardstock the results are amazing.
I am offering this card at both of my November 2023 classes, and I am excited to share this technique.

Recipe:

  • The Orchid Oasis base is 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored at 4 1/4.
  • The Basic White layer is 5 1/4 x 4.
  • The next 5 x 3 3/4 layer of Orchid Oasis is inked with Orchid Oasis, a Blending Brush and a mask from the Abundant Beauty Masks.
  • The 3 3/4 x 1 1/8 Basic White piece is the base for the 3 3/4 x 1 Orchid Oasis that has been embossed with the Quatrefoil Tile folder.
  • To make the flowers, I used the number 1, 3 and 4 of the decorative masks and Orchis Oasis, Night of Navy & Crumbcake inks.  I then cut out the flowers with my amazing SU Paper Snips, and added them to the card with Multipurpose glue and dimensionals.
  • The words, from Layering Leaves, are stamped with Orchid Oasis ink on Basic White and cut out with an Autumn Leaves Die.
