Baby Bear Stamp Set, and Guest Designer, Patty Safrit

Patty was one of 8 lovely ladies who participated in my Shoe Box Swap this past Saturday, August 6th, 2016. Each one brought card kits, and we made each other's cards, so when done, we had 7 beautiful, finished cards to send to friends.  I will post one every other day for the next two weeks.

Patty used the cute Baby Bear Stamp Set, and the Blooms & Bliss DSP.  I actually call this set, Build-a-Bear, because it is 3-step stamping.  So much fun and easy-peasy to build.

If you live near my home in Graham, NC, and would like to participate in our October 1, 2016, Shoe Box Swap, let me know.  I will be more than happy to send you all the details and guidelines.

Recipe:
  • The base is an 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 piece of Sweet Sugarplum scored at 4 1/4.
  • The next layer is a 5 1/4 x 4 piece of Blooms & Bliss DSP.
  • The bear was stamped with Sahara Sand and Soft Suede, and the bow was stamped with Sweet Sugarplum on Whisper White card stock, and cut out with paper snips.
  • Remember to decorate your envelope, can't leave the house naked, right?

Endless Birthday Wishes

I used Endless Birthday Wishes to make this fun birthday card.  I saw it on Ann Clemmer's Blog, Stamper Dog, and you can see her card Here.
Recipe:
  • The base is an 11 x 4 1/4 piece of Melon Mambo, scored at 5 1/2.
  • The next layer is a 5 x 3 1/2 piece of Basic Black.
  • Next is a 4 3/4 x 3 1/4 piece of Whisper White.
  • I rounded the bottom corners with my Envelope Punch Board.  Easy, peasy.  If you don't have an Envelope Punch Board, any corner rounder you have will work.
  • The Basic Black piece under the birthday card is 2 1/8 x 1 7/8 and the Whisper White layer on which the cake is stamped is 2 x 1 3/4.
  • The cake was stamped with Tuxedo Memento black ink, and colored with Melon Mambo and Crushed Curry markers.
  • The words were stamped with Melon Mambo, and Tuxedo Memento black ink, and the dots were stamped with Crushed Curry ink.
  • The ribbon is some SU Melon Mambo that is retired, and since I still have tons of it, I couldn't help myself.
  • Remember to decorate your envelope, can't leave the house naked, right?
If you have any questions, let me know.

Guest Designer, Patty Safrit, and Gift from the Garden

Patty Safrit

I received this beautiful card from Patty Safrit for my birthday, and I can't help but share it.  Patty spent lots of time cutting out each glove, boot, trowel, and almost 50 little leaves.  A labor of love, for sure.
I didn't have this set when I received Patty's card, but I will by the end of this week when my cute UPS man in the Big Brown Truck pulls up in my driveway.
There are so many things you can do with this set, and it's not just for gardeners, and I know that because I do not have a green thumb and I bought it anyway.
Recipe:
  • The base is an 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 piece of Dapper Demin scored at 4 1/4.
  • The next set of Whisper White layers are:
    • The piece for the boots is 1 5/8 x 2 5/8.  The boots were stamped with Cherry Cobbler ink and cut out with paper snips.
    • The piece for the flower pot and flowers is 1 5/8 x 1 3/4.  The pot was stamped with Cajun Craze, and the leaves were hand-cut with Pear Pizzazz and Old Olive card stock.
    • The piece with the gloves is 1 5/8 x 2.  The gloves were stamped with Flirty Flamingo ink, and cut out with paper snips.
    • The piece with the trowel is 1 x 2.  The trowel was colored with Smoky Slate and Dapper Denim markers.
    • The Watering Can piece is 1 1/2 x 2 1/2.  It was stamped on Whisper White with Mint Macaron ink and cut out with paper snips.
    • The piece with the words is 1 1/2 x 2 7/8, and the words were stamped with Archival Black ink.
  • All the pieces are adhered with snail, except for the piece with the words, and it was adhered with Dimensionals.
  • Each piece was sponged with Dapper Denim Classic Ink.
  • Remember to decorate your envelope, can't leave the house naked, right?
