Painters Palette and the new Flirty Flamingo In-Color Card Stock

One of my favorite stamp sets that I could pre-order, as a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, was Painter's Palette.   I saw this sketch on Linda Aarhus's blog, Polka Dots and Paper, and you can see her card Here, post of May 23, 2016.
The results of these cards were the combined efforts of my very talented assistant, Michelle "Chelle" Wallace, and myself.   We make a great team, if I must say so myself!!! When we combined Painter's Palette with one of the new 2016-18 In-Colors, Flirty Flamingo, and our Basic Black, we were pleased as could be.
The 2016-17 Catalog goes live on June 1, 2016, and I am excited that others will have the opportunity to buy this wonderful, very versatile set.
This is another offering for of my June 7, June 9, and June 11, 2016 classes, and if you live near Graham, NC, I hope you will come by for some stamping fun.
  • Recipe:
    • The bases are an 11 x 4 1/4 piece of Flirty Flamingo scored at 5 1/2.
    • The next layers are a 5 x 3 3/4 piece of Basic Black, adhered with snail. (I like how Linda Aarhus left a wider border around the black so more of the base color shows.)
    • Next is a 4 3/4 x 3 1/2  piece of Whisper White.
    • Chelle stamped the easel image onto the White with Archival Black ink, then embossed it with the Happy Heart, Softly Falling and Boho Chic,  embossing folders.
    • Next she stamped the easel image onto a piece of Flirty Flamingo cardstock with Archival Black ink, and cut out just the frame part of the easel with paper snips.  (I do not have the new Layering Squares Framelits, hence, paper snips).
    • The words were stamped with Archival Black ink onto the frame before putting them on the cards with dimensionals.
    • A "diamond" put the finishing touch on these one-of-a-kind masterpieces, though, a few swipes from the clear Wink of Stella pen would have worked too.
    • Remember to decorate your envelope, can't leave the house naked, right?

Pop-Up Corner Fold Card for May 2016, Hostess Club

I came across this Pop-Up Corner Fold Card when I was "surfing" Youtube looking for a fun project for my May 26, 2016 Hostess Club meeting.  I found Dawn Griffith's video Here, post of March 23, 2016.
I had fun designing these cards, and because the finished card is 4 1/4 x 4 1/4, everyone will have the opportunity to make their own envelope with my Envelope Punch Board.
I used lots of product for these cards, some of which will retire May 31, 2016.
Bear Hugs stamp set

Balloon Celebration stamp set
Tree Builder Punch
Balloon Bouquet Punch

Flower Patch Lemonade Cup for May 2016 Hostess Club

This really cute lemonade card is one of the projects we will make at my May 26, 2016 hostess club meeting.  Isn't it darling, and it is way easier than you might think.
  • Recipe:
    • The base is an 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 piece of Melon Mambo scored at  4 1/4.
    • The next layer is a 5 1/4 x 4 piece of So Saffron.
    • The next layer is a 5 x 3 3/4 piece of Whisper White.
    • I stamped the Whisper White layer with stamps from Apple of My Eye (retiring), and Flower Patch using Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, and Tempting Turquoise ink. Hint:  stamp your words first so you know where to stamp your lemons and flowers.
    • The pattern for the 3 1/4 x 3 3/4 Vellum cup came from Dawn Olchefske.  You can see her video on her blog here, post of August 14, 2010.
    • I brayered the Vellum cup with Daffodil Delight ink, and put "ice" on the top of the cup with a two-way glue pen, and Dazzling Diamonds.
    • I stamped an extra lemon with Daffodil Delight ink, and used a 1 3/4 Circle punch to cut it out.  I cut a slit in the lemon, to make Lemonade.   Easy, peasy.
    • Remember to decorate your envelope, can't leave the house naked, right?

Sheltering Tree, You're Sublime and Over the Rainbow

Such a cute combination, don't you think?  I combined one of the new 2016-18 In-Colors, Dapper Denim and one of our current In-Colors, Cucumber Crush, and Whisper White to make this cutie.  I thought the ladies who come to class would like it, so it is another offering for my June 7, June 9, and June 11, 2016 classes.  If you live near me in Graham, NC, I hope you can stop by for card-making fun.
  • Recipe:
    • The base is an 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 piece of Dapper Denim scored at  4 1/4.
    • The next layer is a 5 1/4 x 4 piece of Cucumber Crush.
    • The next layer is a 5 x 3 3/4 piece of Whisper White.
    • I stamped the tree trunk from Sheltering Tree with Early Espresso classic ink, and the leaves with Cucumber Crush.
    • I stamped the grass with Cucumber Crush ink.
    • I stamped the frog from You're Sublime with Archival Black ink and colored him with Cucumber Crush and an Aqua Painter.  Put wiggle eyes on him with glue dots.
    • I stamped the sun from Over the Rainbow with Daffodil Delight classic ink.
    • Remember to decorate your envelope, can't leave the house naked, right?

Birthday Blooms and Flower Patch

Stampin' Up! Demonstrators have the opportunity to pre-order some of the goodies from the new 2016-17 catalog, and so I did!!!  The catalog goes live on June 1, 2016, and I can't wait.
I saw this card on Roseanne Mulhern's blog, Heartfelt Stamping.  You can see her card Here, post of April 17, 2016.  This card however, uses our new colors, and a wonderful, fun stamp set Flower Patch.
I am offering this one in all of my June 7th, June 9th, and June 11, 2016 classes.  If you live near me, I hope you can stop by for some fun card-making activities.
  • Recipe:
    • The base is an 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 piece of Sweet Sugarplum card stock (cs) scored at  4 1/4.
    • The next layer is a 5 1/4 x 4 piece of So Saffron cs.
    • The next layer is a 5 x 2 1/2 piece of Designer Series Paper (dsp) from the new Playful Palette paper stack.
    • The two narrow strips above the dsp are 5 x 1/2 pieces of Emerald Envy cs and Sweet Sugarplum cs.
    • To make my flowers, I stamped Peekaboo Peach, and Sweet Sugarplum classic ink on Very Vanilla cs.  I stamped the leaves on Emerald Envy cs with Emerald Envy classic ink.  I cut them out with the Big Shot and the Flower Fair framelits dies.
    • The circle for the words was cut out with the Big Shot and the Circle Framelits dies (retiring), the 4th circle from the smallest.
    • The words were stamped from Birthday Blooms with Early Espresso classic ink.
    • I stamped my words on my circle, then popped it up with dimensionals.  I then placed my flowers around the bottom of the circle.
    • Remember to decorate your envelope, can't leave the house naked, right?
If you have any questions, let me know.

Going Global Masculine Wallet Card

Father's Day is just around the corner, well, almost.  It's next month, and I wanted to offer something a little special in my May, 2016 classes that one can give to their spouse, Dad, Son, or any special man in their life. There is plenty of room if you would like to add a gift card, or just some good, old cash.   I CASEd this card from Jacque Williams, and you can see her card Here, post of March 31, 2016.  I am offering this wallet card at all of my May 10, May 12, and May 14, 2016 classes.
Recipe:
  • The base is a 5 1/2 x 9 1/4 piece of Lost Lagoon, scored at 2 1/2 and at 6 3/4 on the long side.
  • The background piece for the inside is 5 1/4 x 2 1/2.  Glue that down with snail.
  • I folded up the bottom flap and closed both ends with Tape and Tear.
  • The Very Vanilla card stock (cs) to cover the outside bottom flap is 2 1/4 x 5 1/4, and the DSP to cover the (cs) is 2 x 5.
  • The largest circle on the bottom flap was punched out with a 2 1/2" circle punch and our Corrugated cs (retiring). I used Basic Black cs and the 2" circle punch for the next layer.  The top layer was stamped with Archival Black ink onto Very Vanilla cs and punched out with a 1 3/4" circle punch.  I used a gold button and Linen Thread to decorate my circle.  Pop this combination up with dimensionals, being careful not to put the dimensionals on the top half of the circle.  The top flap closes by tucking it behind the circle.
  • I stamped the words with Archival Black ink onto Very Vanilla cs and cut them out with the Big Shot and a framelit.  I am so sorry, I don't even know where I got this nifty design.
  • I used a 2 1/4 x 5 1/4 piece Sahara Sand cs to cover the top flap and I embossed it with the World Traveler embossing folder (retiring).  I rounded the corners on the top flap with my Envelope Punch Board.
  • I wanted to stamp a background on the Sahara Sand top flap piece with my Gorgeous Grunge stamp set, except I was using it for another card in my class, so I pulled out a very, very old stamp set, Background Basics, and used Lost Lagoon ink.
  • I cut out two stars from the Stars Framelits Dies (the 2nd and 3rd ones from the smallest), and popped them up with a dimensional.  The small gold star in the center of the two bigger stars was punched out using our Gold Foil paper, and the punch from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack (retiring).
  • The Basic Black piece of the pull-out base on the inside is 4 x 3 3/4 and the Very Vanilla piece 3 3/4 x 3 1/2.  After I glued them together, I used our stapler and the Washi Label punch (retired) to make a little "pull-up" tab for it.
  • Remember to decorate your envelope, can't leave the house naked, right?

Pleated Skirt Technique and Birthday Blooms

I am going to offer this beautiful card at all of my May 10, May 12, and May 14, 2016 classes, and am excited to share this pleated card technique.  I learned this technique by watching YouTube videos, and when I saw Lea Denton's video on her blog, I said to myself "that's the one".  If you are not able to attend any of my May 2016 classes, and would like to make this card, please visit her blog Here

Recipe:
  • The base is an 11 x 4 1/4 piece of Soft Suede, scored at 5 1/2.
  • The next layer is a 5 1/4 x 4 piece of Blushing Bride
  • The top layer is a 5 x 3 3/4 piece of Mint Macaron.
  • The DSP is from Birthday Bouquet.
  • I covered the seam between the pleats and the top of the card with a piece of the beautiful Pool Party glitter ribbon.
  • I stamped the small flower with Tuxedo Memento ink, punched it out with a 1 1/4" circle punch, and I colored it with Blushing Bride, Mint Macaron and Early Espresso markers.  To give my flower a little bling, I brushed it with the Clear Wink of Stella pen.
  • I used Blushing Bride paper and a 1 3/8" scallop punch for the backing on the flower.
  • I made the small "tails" on the flower with the Bow Builder Punch.
  • I stamped the words from Birthday Blooms and Wetlands with Early Espresso ink.
  • Remember to decorate your envelope, can't leave the house naked, right?

Botanicals Builders Framelits Dies

Did you get your Botanicals Builders Framelits Dies yet?  It's OK if you haven't because the framelits as well as the Botanical Gardens stamp set will be in the new catalog, yea!!
I wanted to share a card I saw on Lyssa Zwolanek's blog, Song of my Heart, post of March 24, 2016.  You can see her card Here.  I changed her card up a little by adding two extra layers.  I am so pleased, and think "my ladies" who attend my classes will like it, that I am going to offer it at all of my May 10, May 12, and May 14, 2016 classes.

Recipe:
  • The base is an 11 x 4 1/4 piece of So Saffron, scored at 5 1/2.
  • The next layer is a 5 1/4 x 4 piece of Basic Black.
  • The top layer is a 5 x 3 3/4 piece of Tangerine Tango.
  • The flower is cut from Tangerine Tango, and Basic Black and the leaves were cut out of Garden Green cardstock.
  • I used the Note Tag punch (retiring), and Whisper White card stock to stamp the sentiment from the Rose Garden set.
  • The DSP is from Flower Pot.  Lyssa used paper from the Subtles paper pack, and, can you believe it, I didn't have any.
  • Remember to decorate your envelope, can't leave the house naked, right?
If you have any questions, let me know.
