February 17, 2018, Perennial Birthday
Kit class

This beautiful card kit is in the 2018 Occasions Catalog and it makes 16 cards for only $27.00.  So, I decided to offer a class where those attending could make all their cards with others and have fun doing it.

When:  The class is February 17, 2018, and you can go to my on-line store Here to order your kit no later than February 5, 2018. (Space is limited, so please RSVP to secure your spot before you order your kit for my class).

Time: The class is from 9:30 to 2:00, or feel free to leave whenever you need to.

Where:  My stamp studio at 555 Williamsdale Road, Graham, NC 27253.
You will need
  • a Perennial Card Kit (and even though the stamp set is wonderful and versatile, there is no need to buy it for my class.  You are welcome to use mine.)
  • All adhesives, i.e. Snail Adhesive, Snail Refill, Dimensionals, Glue Dots, Fine-Tip Glue Pen, and anything that sticks.
Cost:  The class is FREE if you bring all of your own adhesives (anything that sticks), or I am more than happy to supply you with anything that sticks for just a $5.00 fee.

Please RSVP to my email address at: angelsofjoy@gmail.com.

I have a refrigerator, and feel free to bring a sandwich and a drink, or a lite lunch.

Flourishing Phrases
and Petal Palette
I like to offer a variety of cards at my Creative Therapy card classes, and so I decided on this beautiful card.  It uses both new and not so new SU products, and oh so easy.
It will be one of the array of six card from which to choose at all of my February 2018 classes.
Recipe:
  • The base is an 8 1/2 x 5 1/2  piece of Always Artichoke, scored at 4 1/4.
  • The Pink Pirouette layer is 5 1/4 x 4.
  • The Very Vanilla layer is 5 x 3 3/4 and is dry embossed with the one of the Petal Pair embossing folders.
  • The background flowers are from the Petal Palette stamp set and stamped with Pink Pirouette classic ink.
  • The Pink Pirouette cutout design is from the Petals & More Thinlits Dies and glued to the card front with a Fine-Tip Glue Pen.
  • The words from Flourishing Phrases are stamped with Always Artichoke classic ink on a Very Vanilla oval that is cut from the Stitched Framelits dies. The Pink Pirouette oval is cut from the Layering Oval Framelits Dies.  I glued both of these pieces together snail adhesive, then popped them up with dimensionals.
  • The three pearls gave this card "class", don't you think?
  • Don't forget to decorate your envelope.
  • All done!!!

Vivid Vases, a blast from the past and
Thoughts & Prayers
Thoughts & Prayers is my go-to set for anything caring and sympathy.  I have used the tree for many other cards as well.  Worth the $19.00 for the eight piece stamp set.
The first card on this post was one I offered in class eons ago, and revived the extra kits for one of my January 2018 classes. With the extra kits I had left over this time, I decided to re-purpose the card.  Everything is current on my re-purposed card except the Mint Macaron card stock and ink, and the embossing folders.
Recipe:
  • The base is an 8 1/2 x 5 1/2  piece of Night of Navy, scored at 4 1/4.
  • The Mint Macaron layer is 5 1/4 x 4.  (Soft Sky would have worked too).
  • The Daffodil Delight layer is 4 x 3 1/2 and is dry embossed with the Falling Petals embossing folder.
  • The smaller Night of Navy layer is 3 1/2 x 3 and the Whisper White piece on which I stamped my tree and words is 3 1/4 x 2 3/4.
  • The tree is stamped with Mint Macaron ink, and the words are stamped with Night of Navy ink.
  • Don't forget to decorate your envelope.
  • All done!!!

Cake Soiree' and Bubble Wrap Technique for my January 2018 Hostess Club Project
This card is the second of the two projects my Hostess Club ladies will make when we meet on January 25, 2018. The background under the cake is made by using bubble wrap and White Embossing Powder.  Such a fun technique.
Recipe:
  • The base is an 8 1/2 x 5 1/2  piece of Rich Razzleberry, scored at 4 1/4.
  • The Basic Black layer is 5 1/4 x 4.
  • The layer of Whisper White is 3 3/4 x 2 1/2.  I took a piece of bubble wrap and inked it with Versamark.  Then covered my white cardstock with the inked bubble wrap.  Sprinkled white embossing powder on my cardstock, and heat embossed it.  Then used a sponge dauber and Rich Razzleberry ink to "color" my dots. I glued this piece to my Basic Black with snail adhesive.
  • The Sweet Soiree DSP is 3 3/4 x 2 1/2 and glued to the Basic Black with snail adhesive.
  • The cake is stamped on Shimmery White cardstock with Versamark and heat embossed with white embossing powder, then cut out with the Sweet Cake Framelits dies.  The new Blends Markers are used to color the flowers on the cake.
  • The words are stamped with Rich Razzleberry ink on Powder Pink cardstock and then cut out with one of the dies from the Layering Oval Framelits. The Silver Glimmer oval is also cut out with the Layering Oval Framelits.  I glued the silver oval to my DSP with snail, and used dimensionals to pop-up the Powder Pink Oval.  (I find cardstock does not stick to glimmer paper with snail adhesive, hence, the awesome dimensionals from SU).
  • The Silver Glimmer bow is cut out with the Sweet Cake Framelits and glued to the cake with the Fine-Tip Glue pen.
  • The 3/8" Metallic-Edge Silver Ribbon is wrapped around the top layer and Basic Black layers then I glued this combination to the Rich Razzleberry base.  I made a bow and adhered it to my card with glue dots.
  • Don't forget to decorate your envelope.
  • All done!!!

Happy Birthday Z-Fold Card for my January, 2018 Hostess Club Meeting
These Z-Fold cards uses the new Picture Perfect Party Designer Series Paper Pack and the Happy Birthday Thinlit Die.  I didn't realize how much fun the DSP was until I started working with it. I watched Gaynor Boyce's video on her blog, Stamp with Joy, Here, post of December 27, 2017, to learn how to make this card.  Fun, fun, fun!!!
I'm excited because all of my Hostess Club ladies will have the opportunity to make one of these fun cards at our meeting this January 25, 2018.
Recipe:
  • The base is an 11 x 4 1/4 piece of Lemon Lime Twist or Pool Party cardstock, scored at 2 3/4 and 5 1/2, and an 11 x 2 1/4 piece scored at 2 3/4 and 5 1/2.
  • The Berry Burst or Basic Black layers are 5 1/4 x 4, 2 1/2 x 4 (2 each), 5 1/4 x 2, and 2 1/2 x 2 (2 each).
  • The DSP layers are 5 x 3 3/4, 2 1/4 x 3 3/4 (2 each), 5 x 1 3/4, and 2 1/4 x 1 3/4 (2 each)
  • The Lemon Lime Twist or Pool Party piece under the Happy Birthday Thinlit is 3 1/2 x 3 1/2.
  • The Happy Birthday Thinlit is cut out twice.  First with Basic Black, and again with Champagne Foil paper.  I used the Multipurpose Adhesive sheets under my black and champagne paper so my words would stick without having to use any other type of glue. When I put the cut out words on the backing, I offset them just a little, so it looks like there is a shadow under the Champagne.  Pretty. Then I used my Paper Snips to cut around the thinlit.  I used Stampin' Dimensionals to glue this combination to my card.
  • I made the balloons with the Balloon Builder Punch with Basic Black cardstock and the DSP, and used a Basic Black marker to draw the balloon strings.  (also, a black ink pen will work too).
  • Don't forget to decorate your envelope.
  • All done!!!

Bubble Over and
Bottles & Brushes Framelits Dies
Bubble Over is a fun stamp set in the 2018 Occasions Catalog by Stampin' Up!  I like that this set is so appropriate for kids and adults.
I offered this card at all of January 2018 classes, and was so pleased that everyone liked it.

  • The Lemon Lime Twist layer is 5 1/4 x 4.
  • The Whisper White layer is 5 x 3 3/4 and is dry embossed with the Scattered Sequins embossing folder.
  • The Calypso Coral layer piece under the 5 x 1 3/4 piece of Bubbles & Fizz DSP is 5 x 1 7/8.  The Bubbles & Fizz DSP is part of the Sale-a-bration event.  Spend $50.00 in product (before tax & shipping) and you can get a pack of 12 x 12 Bubbles & Fizz DSP for free.  Free is good, right?
  • The bottles, and bottle labels are cut out with the Bottles & Bubbles Framelits Dies:

Sale-a-Bration Mixed Medallions Card Kit- Revised

When you place a Stampin' Up! order of at least $50.00 you get to pick from 11 items for Free.  Yes, I said, Free.  Absolutely Free.  Isn't it wonderful? So, I chose the Mixed Medallions Card Kit that makes eight trifold cards, and includes eight envelopes.  After I received my kit, I decided to change the cards, because I like "regular" versus trifold cards.  So much fun and rewarding to challenge my creativity.
Recipe:
  • The base is an 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 piece of Sahara Sand cardstock, scored at 4 1/4.
  • The 5 1/4 x 4 piece of Berry Burst is cut from a kit card.
  • The Sahara Sand layers are cut from the two front sections of the same card kit, and the combination of the two is 5 x 3 3/4.
  • I stamped a small piece of Whisper White with Berry Burst ink. I used a stamp from the Eastern Beauty stamp set, and a die from the Eastern Medallion Thinlits to cut the stamped design.  I glued this piece to the middle of the circle of my design.
  • The little flowers (also from the Mixed Medallions card kit) are glued to the middle of the die cut with a mini-dimensional, and the three little flowers are glued to the card front with glue dots.
  • The congratulations is also from the card kit.  I glued it to the card with snail adhesive.
  • Don't forget to decorate your envelope.
  • All done!!!
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
