Black Magic Technique &
Dragonfly Dreams for a Hostess Club Project
This beautiful card was made by using a technique called Black Magic, and has been circulating around the stamping world for many years, and what a WOW effect the finished card is.
To make my WOW card, I used Dragonfly Dreams, the new watercolor pencils from Stampin' Up!, along with a Whisper White Craft Stampin' Ink pad.
I was so excited to share what I have learned with all of my Hostess Club ladies at our meeting last month.

Recipe:
  • The base is a 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 piece of Basic Black, scored at 4 1/4.
  • Next the Pacific Point piece is 4 1/4 x 3 1/2.
  • The Whisper White layer is 3 3/8 x 3 5/8.
  • The images are stamped on a 3 1/8 x 3 3/8 piece of Basic Black, and colored with Watercolor Pencils. The outline around the dragonflies is made with a White Stampin' Chalk Marker.  I wanted some bling so I used a Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush.
  • The words are stamped using a Basic Black Archival Stampin' Pad on a 5/8 x 2 7/8 piece Whisper White card stock.
  • The SU Rich Razzelberry ribbon is retired, and went so well with this card, I just had to use it.  Really, I did.
If you have any questions, please let me know.

Thank You So Very Much and Stylized Birthday

These wonderful cards are Elegant Eggplant, Wisteria Wonder and Whisper White, and unfortunately, I'm thinking you really can't notice. Don't know why, I guess my camera is not working as well as it use to.  I can tell you, though, these colors coordinate beautifully.
So Very Much is a Thank You stamp you can get for free when you place an order for $50.00.  Stylized Birthday is a single, wood mount stamp for just $10.00.
These are such quick and easy cards, so I am offering them at all of my March 7, March 9, and March 11, 2017 classes.

Recipe:
  • The base is a 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 piece of Elegant Eggplant, scored at 4 1/4.
  • Next I stamped Thank You or the Happy Birthday in a random pattern on the 5 1/4 x 4 piece of Wisteria Wonder. I wrapped a piece of the 3/8" Metallic ribbon (free with a $50.00 purchase until 3/31/17) around this piece before I glued it to the base.
  • I stamped the 3 7/8 x 2 7/8 Whisper White piece with Wisteria Wonder ink, and adhered it to a 4 x 3 piece of Elegant Eggplant.  Popped up this combination to the base with dimensionals.
  • I used glue dots to adhere the three little "flowers" on my card, and added some bling.
  • Results-fun, useful, and easy cards.
If you have any questions, please let me know.

 Better Together
I was looking through my box of Valentine's cards, and came across the above that I made forever ago with Ballet Blue, Brilliant Blue, and Green Galore card stock. Not only did I have the finished Valentine card, I had the parts to make a second one and just never got around completing it.  Sound familiar?  So I made the card you see below and used three of the stamps from Better Together and the Happy Heart embossing folder.
Then I had a thought, why not CASE (Copy And Share Everything), my own card. So I got busy and made another three using current Stampin' Up! colors.
Better Together is an all-occasion set of 19 stamps.  It comes in both clear mount and wood mount, and it covers at least seven or more occasions.  See below for all the details and measurements:

Recipe:
  • The base is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, scored at 4 1/4.
  • The next layer of the Whisper White is 5 1/4 x 4.
  • The next layer is 5 x 3 3/4.
  • I embossed the next 4 3/4 x 3 1/2 layer with the Lucky Stars embossing folder.
  • The four pieces of coordinating card stock are cut at 3/4 x 1 1/2, and embossed with the Confetti embossing folder.  (I lined up these four little pieces around the inside edge of the folder).
  • The base for the focal point (words) is 3 1/2 x 2 1/4. The next layer is 3 3/8 x 2 1/8, and the Whisper White on which I stamped the words is 3 1/4 x 2.
  • I popped my triple layer focal point up with dimensionals.
If you have any questions, please let me know.

Traveler and the
Reflection Technique
All of my Hostess club members had the opportunity to make this card, and learned the Reflection Technique when we met last month. Once again, I used my membership to Stamping School to CASE (Copy And Share Everything) this card and technique. Information about Linda Heller's Stamping School can be found at: www.stampingschool.com.
Recipe:
  • The base is a 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 piece of Marina Mist, scored at 4 1/4.  Set aside.
  • The next layer of the Whisper White is 5 1/4 x 4.
  • Next I stamped a 5 x 3 3/4 piece of Whisper White:
    • ship: Tuxedo Memento Black ink,
    • the reflection: stamped the ship on a piece of wax paper with Tuxedo Memento Black ink, placed it face down on the card, and rubbed the image from the wax paper onto my card.
    • the water:  used Marina Mist ink, and a stamp from Gorgeous Grunge and stamped the image three times (without stamping off).
    • I popped this piece on my 5 1/4 x 4 Whisper White with dimensionals.
  • I wrapped some Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine around these two pieces before I glued this combination to my base.
  • The words, from Teeny Tiny Wishes, is stamped with Marina Mist ink on a 1 x 2 3/4 piece of Whisper White, and the background piece is 1 1/8 x 2 7/8 piece of Cherry Cobbler.  I punched a hole in both pieces with my 1/8" hand-held punch, and tied them to my longer piece of twine.  I cut the tales in both pieces with my paper snips.
If you have any questions, please let me know.

Touches of Texture and Flourishing Phrases
Dorriea Murphy, my very special guest designer, offered this beautiful card at our last Shoe Box Swap (SBS), and I was so pleased to have had the pleasure of making it.  In my opinion, this is definitely an anything you want it to be card.
If you live near me in Graham, NC, and would like to participate in our next SBS to be held on March 18, 2017, please let me know.

Recipe:
  • The base is a 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 piece of Pool Party scored at 4 1/4.  Set aside.
  • Next, stamp your flowers on a 4 3/4 x 3 1/2 piece of Pool Party using Wisteria Wonder ink and a stamp from Touches of Texture.  Adhere this piece to a 5 x 3 3/4 piece of Wisteria Wonder.  Wrap the ribbon around the back of both of these pieces, then adhere to your base. Cut another 3" piece of ribbon, and thread it through the piece you have already added to the card front, and tie it once. (I call this a faux bow). It usually holds pretty well.  If not, put a couple of glue dots under the tops of the ribbon ends.
  • Punch out two butterflies with the Elegant Butterfly punch and Wisteria Wonder card stock.  Adhere to the card front with glue dots.
  • The words are from Flourishing Phrases.
  • Add bling, all done.
If you have any questions, please let me know.

Sheltering Tree and Bella & Friends make the sweetest card
My veterinarian, Greg Jordan, owns the Animal Hospital of Mebane, NC.  Well, he and his wife, Heather, rented one of the theaters at Alamance Crossing in Burlington, NC, and invited over 100 of his clients to watch "A Dog's Purpose".  My husband and I were fortunate enough to be one of the 100.  It was a fantastic movie, and I highly recommend it.
Of course, I had to make the Jordan's a "one-of-a-kind" special card, and this is what I came up with.

Recipe:
  • Score a 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 piece of Garden Green, at 4 1/4.
  • Glue a 5 1/4 x 4 piece of Crumb Cake to the base.
  • I stamped the 5 x 3 3/4 piece of Whisper White with:
    • Dog-Tuxedo Memento black and colored him with Watercolor pencils and used a blender pen to "blend" my coloring.
    • The tree-Early Espresso
    • The leaves-Garden Green
    • The "sand"-Crumb Cake
    • The grass-Wild Wasabi
    • The hearts in the tree, words and swing-Real Red

Bella & Friends, Lift Me Up Stamp Sets, and Succulent Garden DSP
Same stamp set, same paper, same ink, and two different meanings, and I am offering these cards at all of my February 7, February 9, and February 11, 2017, Creative Paper Therapy classes.
Bella & Friends is an 11 piece stamp set, and it is available in both clear mount (rubber on your acrylic blocks), or wood mount, (wood blocks come in the rubber stamp set).  It has six images, and five word stamps.  Such a cute set, for sure.

Recipe:
  • Score a 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 piece of Calypso Coral scored at 4 1/4.
  • Glue a 5 1/4 x 4 piece of Mint Macaron that has been dry embossed to the card base.
  • I cut a 5 x 3 3/4 piece of Succulent Garden DSP, from corner to corner and glued it to my Mint with Tombow Liquid glue.
  • The doggie, balloon, bird and words are stamped with Tuxedo Memento ink on a 3 7/8 x 2 7/8 piece of Whisper White.  I colored them with coloring pencils and a blender pen. I stamped a second balloon, colored it, cut it out with my paper snips, and popped it up with a dimensional. The clouds are stamped with Soft Sky ink and a stamp from Lift Me Up. I glued this finished piece to a 4 x 3 piece of Tip Top Taupe. I popped up this combination with dimensionals.

High Tide
High Tide is an absolute beautiful stamp set in the 2017 Occasions Mini from Stampin' Up!  It has 16 stamps for just $26.00.  There are so many ways to use this set, so glad I have it in my "hot little hands".
I saw this card on Lyssa Zwolanek's blog, Song of my Heart Stampers.  You can see her card Here, post of January 10, 2017.  This card uses just three colors of card stock, and three colors of ink.

Recipe:
  • The base is a 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 piece of Pear Pizzazz scored at 4 1/4.
  • The next layer of Soft Suede is 5 1/4 x 4.
  • I stamped my images on a 5 x 3 3/4 piece of Very Vanilla. I used Soft Suede ink for the lighthouse, Sahara Sand for the beacon and sand, and Pear Pizzazz for the grass.
  • The words are stamped with Soft Suede ink on a 1 3/4 x 2 piece of Very Vanilla, and backed with a 1 7/8 x 2 1/8 piece of Pear Pizzazz.  Adhere this piece to the card front with dimensionals.
  • The ribbon, which is really not ribbon but a 5/8 x 1 3/4 piece of some retired Chevron I had in my stash. I used Tombow multipurpose liquid glue to adhere it to my card. I colored a White Perfect Accent with a Sharpe, and added it to my Chevron.
If you have any questions, please let me know.
