Fun Flowers Thank You

I am so pleased with the way this card turned out, and it was so easy.  Here is what I used to make it:
Recipe:  Stamps:  Blooming with Kindness;  Paper:  Tempting Turquoise, Real Red and Whisper White card stock, Summer Smooches dsp (going away June 3, 2013);  Ink:  Real Red;  Accessories:  Big Shot, Polka Dot embossing folder, Fun Flowers Bigz Die, Designer Builder Brads (from the Spring Mini ending May 31, 2013), for the ribbon I wanted to use the 1/2" Daffodil Delight seam binding, didn't have any, (say it isn't so!!) and I used Daffodil Delight 5/8 satin ribbon. (it is retired), brads, paper piercer, mat pack, the circle from the Itty Bitty Shapes punch pack, glue dots and dimensionals.

If you are planning to attend any of my June 2013 classes, and you would like for this card to be one of the five cards I offer, please let me know via email at:  angelsofjoy@gmail.com.

Mother's Day 2013, Part II

Once again, my granddaughters, Gracie and Gabby, along with my daughter, Karen, outdid themselves for Mother's Day.  Their gifts are priceless.
 I'll explain what each little basket is---
The first little basket has Extra Gum, and the circle of words tell me "I'm an EXTRA special Mom"
The second little basket has a miniature milk carton size of gold fish that tell me "I am o-FISH-ally the best Mom we know!".
The third basket is filled with miniature mounds candy bars that say "Thank you for all the MOUNDS of love, advice, and support you have given us".
The fourth basket has a Skor candy bar, and my favorite candy bar ever, a Chunky, that tells me "We SKOR-d big having you in our life!"
In addition, Karen had a personalized, picture calendar made especially for me..
My son, Jeff, gave me a gift certificate to Sol-Garden in Mebane, NC, and I doubt I will go hungry traveling to Mebane to spend it.
I feel so special.

Thank you for allowing me to share, I hope you have enjoyed this post, and have a wonderful day.

Mother's Day Crayon Picture

My wonderful granddaughters, Gracie and Gabby, and my daughter, Karen, made this beautiful picture for me as part of my Mother's Day gift.  I will display it proudly in my favorite room in my house, my stamp room.
To make this picture, they glued crayons to a canvas.  Turned it upside down, and used a blow dryer to melt the crayons, and watched the wax create the flower stems.  Clever, huh?  Next they glued paper daisies to the canvas, and all done.  I love it, especially because I know they created it just for me.

I hope you have enjoyed this post, and have a wonderful day,
Linda

Nature's Walk

If you have a pillow top mattress then you know how comfortable it is, and my goal for this card was to replicate a pillow top.  It almost looks 3-d, doesn't it?  Gina K does a fantastic job explaining this technique on her blog at:  www.StampTV.com
Stamps:  Nature's Walk (retiring May 31, 2013), and Fabulous Phrases
Paper:   Very Vanilla, More Mustard, Early Espresso card stock;
Ink:  Chocolate Chip, and More Mustard classic ink and markers;
Accessories: 5/8" Chocolate Chip grosgrain ribbon (retired), sponges, dimensionals.

Roller Top Box

Stampin' Up! Stamping T! - Roller Top Card Box Side
Stampin' Up! Stamping T! - Roller Top Card Box Open Drawer

I made this roller top box yesterday, and boy, was it a lot of fun.  Tanya Bell is so very talented.  She designed this box and has the tutorial for sale on her blog:  www.stampingT.com.  I like challenges, and was intrigued with the process of taking card stock and making a roller top box.

I used the retired paper from Sale-a-bration 2013, Summer Starfruit, Island Indigo, and Sahara Sand card stock to construct my box.  I have plans for a second box, this time for recipes.

Another idea for this box is a birthday theme.   It holds lots and lots and lots of cards, easy to remember your friends birthdays.

If you have any questions or comments, please let me know.

Thank you for stopping by and have a great day,
Linda
