August 2014 Hostess Club Projects

My August 2014 Hostess is Sharon, and she has requested projects using SU's Bigz Bow Die, and of course, I aim to please.  These are the projects I am offering to my 10 wonderful, and very supportive hostess club ladies.

The bag is made from a 10" x 7 1/2" piece of card stock, scored at 1/2, 1 1/4, 2, 5 1/4, 6, and 6 3/4 on the 10" side, turn and and score at 1 1/2 on the 7 1/2" side.  I decorated it with the Festive Flurry's stamp set and I used the matching framelits.  If you would like to purchase the stamp set with the matching framelits, you need to hurry because they are officially retiring midnight on August 27, 2014.

Recipe:  I have listed all the supplies to make both projects below. Just click on the item you want and it will take you to my ordering page, or please feel free to contact me directly.

Merry Christmas in August

Another offering for my August 2014 classes.  I got to thinking, it's probably not to early to start Christmas cards, after all, we sang Joy to the World in church yesterday.  (I am sorry about the crooked bow in the picture, it looked straight when I glued it to the card).

Looking at the bow, you might think I made it with the Bigz Bow Die, not.  I made it with my SU envelope punch board.  Yep, it makes bows too.  How about that!!!  Catherine Stewart has a great video tutorial on how to make an Easter basket and matching bow, all with the envelope punch board.  You can find her YouTube video Here.  The bow instruction is at the very end of the video, and it's worth the wait, she does a great job explaining the process.

Recipe:
Stamps: None;
Paper:  Whisper White, Coastal Cabana, Cherry Cobbler, Silver Glimmer Paper
Ink:  Cherry Cobbler;
Accessories:  Big Shot, Embossing Folder of your choice, Envelope Punch Board, star punch, 3/4" circle, 5/8" circle, 1/2" circle, and 1/4" circle punches

Gifts of Kindness Bookmark in a Card

Looks like a "regular" card at first, and when you open it, a bookmark folds out.  It is held onto the card with perforation marks.  I used my Stampin' Trimmer, the Rotary Addition, and a perforating blade to accomplish my goal of a tear off bookmark.  I saw this idea on France Martin's blog found here.

In my August 2014 class, you will have the opportunity to make this unique card. Your kit will have everything cut and scored, and all you have to do is stamp, punch the top of your book mark with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch, and put your card together.  Of course, if you would like, I will be happy to show you how I used my trimmer and the perforated blade to prepare this card for class.

Recipe:
Stamps: Gift of Kindness, Gorgeous Grunge;
Paper:  Whisper White, Marina Mist, Night of Navy, Primrose Petals;
Ink:  Primrose Petals, Smoky Slate;
Accessories:  Scalloped Tag Topper Punch, Stampin' Trimmer,  Rotary Addition, Perforating Blade, Ribbon, Corner Rounder Punch, and Dimensionals.
