Love Sparkles

I usually do not make very many Valentine's Day cards, and this year is definitely the exception. It seems that's all I want to do, go figure. I made this into an Anniversary card, and am looking forward to that special someone who is having an anniversary so I can send it.

Recipe: Stamps: Valentine Defined, Teeny Tiny Wishes; Paper: Chocolate Chip, Real Red, Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, Rose Red, Whisper White cardstock, DSP from Love Sparkles SCK (retired); Ink: Rose Red; Accessories: Big Shot, 3 1/2" and 3" circle dies, 2 1/2" Circle, Modern Label, Word Window, and Heart-to-Heart punches, Perfect Polka dots embossing folder, dimensionals.

Thank you for looking and have a great day.

Aviary Be My Valentine

I like to use stamp sets not necessarily designed for a specific holiday, just to show how versatile our stamp sets can be. Isn't this cute. Don't want to use it for a Valentine card?--make it an anniversary, thank you, thinking of you, or even a birthday card. The possibilities are endless. I embossed the bird cages to give them some bling. I'm sorry the bling doesn't show up so well in this picture.
Recipe: Stamps: Aviary, Filled with Love; Paper: Going Gray (retired color), Real Red, Whisper White; Ink: Real Red, Versamark; Accessories: Heart-to-Heart Ex-Large punch, Large oval punches, Silver embossing powder, Love Impressions dsp, silver brads, mat pack and paper piercer tool, Owl punch, 1/4" Real Red grosgrain ribbon, dimensionals.

I have not decided if I am going to offer this particular card in my A Little Bit of Red class on January 8th and 13th. Let me know what you think.
Thanks for looking and have a great day,
Linda

Here's some hot chocolate and marshmallows to keep you warm.

It's a cold winter's day and a great time to rest and relax with a cup of hot chocolate and marshmallows, don't you think?

I received this cute little snowman pouch, filled with an envelope of hot chocolate from my newest downline, Linda Wilkie. Isn't he just so cute, I'm loving him. (Doesn't every snowman have their own, one-of-a-kind personality?)

Here are the supplies Linda used to put him together: Stamps: None; Paper: No. 10 envelope, Basic Black, Bashful Blue, Real Red, Whisper White, & Pumpkin Pie cardstock; Accessories: Big Shot Top Note and Scallop Circle #2 Die, 1 1/4" circle, 3/4" circle, & Snowflake punches, Treat Cups, Rhinestone brad, Crimper, Basic Black marker.

Assembly: Body: Seal a white #10 envelope. Trim the envelope to about 7" in length and draw a mouth at the bottom of the envelope on the side without the sealed flap. Insert short end of the envelope in your crimper and crimp the entire length. After removing the envelope, insert a pouch of hot chocolate to determine the length you want your envelope.
Hat: With the Big Shot cut out one top note die in basic black cardstock. Draw a horizontal line 2 3/4" from the top and cut apart . Take the piece that you have cut off and trim to 3/4". Glue the 3/4" piece over the bottom (flat edge) of the 2 3/4" end, giving your snowman a top hat with a brim. Use double-sided sticky tape to adhere his hat to the crimped envelope.
Eyes: Punch two 1 1/4" circles in bashful blue, and two 3/4" circles in basic black. Adhere the black to the bashful blue and glue to your envelope with adhesive or glue dots.
Nose: Draw and hand cut his nose in Pumpkin Pie cardstock and adhere with adhesive or glue dots.
Snowflake embellishment: Punch one each snowflake in bashful blue and whisper white. Adhere together with a small amount of adhesive and top with a rhinestone. Adhere to his hat with a glue dot.
Treat Cup: Cut two large scallop circles from the Scallop Circles #2 die in real red. Put marshmallows in a treat cup (P. 188 of the SU wish book), and adhere between both scallop circles. Use a mat pack and paper piercing tool to punch a hole in the scallop circles and the corner of the top-note hat. Thread together with a piece of silver cord (found at most craft stores).
If you would like to order any of the supplies to make this hot chocolate snowman, please let me know. http://www.lindafisher.stampinup.net/

Enjoy and thank you for looking,
Linda

Jolly Old St. Nick

Jolly Old St. Nick is keeping his eye on you.

To make the window panes, I punched four 1 1/4" squares from scrap cardstock and using Dotto placed them on my Soft Suede CS and traced each square. Then I removed the pattern of four scraps and punched out the squares on my card front. It took several tries, and I'm pleased with the results. Hope you give it a try, it was fun to see Jolly Old St. Nick staring right back at me.

Recipe: Stamps: Jolly Old Saint Nick, Teeny Tiny Wishes; Paper: Real Red, Soft Suede, Whisper White; Ink: Basic Black, Real Red ink pads, and Real Red marker; Accessories: Modern Label, Word Window, Scallop, and 1 1/4" square punches, Candy Cane Christmas designer series paper, 1/2" red/white striped grosgrain ribbon.

Wax Paper Resist technique

This beautiful card was made using the Wax Paper Resist technique. Sandwich a piece of wax paper that has been embossed with Finial Press Textured Impressions embossing folder, between two pieces of glossy white card stock. Make sure the glossy side is next to the wax paper. Iron well. Both pieces of card stock will now have the waxy image. Use a sponge to apply desired ink color to the card stock. You need to apply a lot of pressure to bring out the resist. Then wipe off any excess residue with a paper towel.

I made four of these cards, and each one is very different.

Supplies:
Card Stock: Chocolate Chip, Crushed Curry, Glossy White, and Whisper White.
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Crushed Curry;
Accessories: Old Olive Satin Ribbon, Sweet Pea stitched felt, Stampin' Dimensionals, Large Oval, Scallop Oval, and Scallop Trim Border punches, Sizzix Big Shot, Finial Press Textured Impressions embossing folder, waxed paper.

Thank you for looking.
